Woven aims to create and build a network of peer support group leaders

We intend to empower leaders with tools and knowledge to enhance the effectiveness of each group. We will coach you on how to reach more people and increase the membership of your group.

Our passion is in empowering people to take control of their destiny and help them take their rightful place in society.

Each of you are the expert in your particular area of Mental Health and Addiction, and we want to capitalise on your wealth of knowledge by sharing it with others through networking.

You have so much to offer. For those who wish to go further, we are creating MH and Addiction Peer Panels formed from group leaders.

The members of each Panel will represent the needs and voices of their particular group

Each Panel aims to hold the government accountable and to participate in effective changes in legislation both locally and nationally. All Panels will be a part of a local, and national Panel Network.

At WOVEN, we believe in Equality and Diversity

One of our missions will be to find ways in which we can achieve more success in inclusiveness. Though our PSGs and Panels will be diverse and will have unique and varied forms of communicating their priorities, we all share a common goal.

Each member is valued and important, and each voice worth listening to

Each Panel will choose a Chairperson, a Deputy Chair, and Secretary; it will be their responsibility to make sure Panel information is shared with other members of the Panel and their groups. They will also be responsible for organising meetings. As an independent group, you will be free to decide your own agenda; each Panel’s needs will vary from another.

Creating MHA (Mental Health and Addiction) Peer Support Groups (PSG) Cell Group Network (CGN) Many people live in rural areas and feel isolated

Their PSG may currently only have a few members. However, by connecting them with other like-minded support groups, in both their region and nationally, they will become an active, valued participant in the greater community allowing them to have an equal say in moving our mission forward.

WOVEN will commit to setting up each PSG and MHA Panel with a System and Structure to simplify coordination, communication and information sharing

A One Stop Shop. Each set-up will be tailored to a group’s specific needs.

We will coach all PSG leaders on how to use the system. Each leader, in turn, can coach their group, allowing each member of a group to become proactive in their own support.

This coaching will be up-skilling everyone who participates. This, in turn, has a knock-on effect on confidence building and upgrading an individual’s skill set on their CV.

We would love to have you a part of Woven and collaborate with you to make the changes needed to reduce suicide here in New Zealand. If you would like to hear more on what we are about, please pop your details in below and we will get in touch with you.
